Grameenphone has hired 3000 BTS

Grameenphone has given its own 3000 sites to other operators. The company recently crossed this milestone.
This is the highest among the BTS sites shared by any mobile operator in Bangladesh.
Grameenphone started site sharing in 2009, allowing BTRC to indirectly use telecommunication infrastructure. Internet service provider QUBEE was their first subscriber.
Grameenphone Head of Infrastructure Business Minur Rahman Bhuiyan said BTRC published the Infrastructure Sharing Policy in 2008. Since then, operators have used around eight thousand sites to use each other. Which is more than 50 percent of the BTS set at the same time.
Regarding the BTRC's separate license for mobile tower management and not having the opportunity to participate in mobile operators, Grameenphone CEO Michael Foley said that mobile operators should continue to build, maintain and use the existing towers, to maintain and use others.
Due to the interconnected infrastructure, operators save large capital investment. They can concentrate on their core business and at the same time, a portion of the revenue earned in the official treasury is deposited.
In addition to this, Grameenphone says that the environment protects the use of less space and protects the natural resources by ensuring less electricity.
